Meals are provided utilizing volunteer drivers each weekday for 75 to 85 home-bound participants living in the city of Orange who, due to temporary or permanent disabilities, are unable to comfortably prepare their own meals.
Services will consist of delivering breakfast, a main entree which can be heated at any time, and a cold supper, milk and juices. All meals are prepared under the supervision of a licensed dietitian to provide for the nutritional needs of persons over 60 years of age.
There is always a need for more volunteer drivers for this program. Usually a volunteer drives one day per week and delivers to a route of eight to ten participants. Meals are ready for pickup at 10:45 a.m. and most drivers are finished by noon.
